Usually artists rank as a bit furiosos.
In his new Performance- and Videowork “normal” the artist BBB Johannes Deimling focus the Normality. Who is normal? Who is barmy? And who decides about who is normal or barmy? The normals or the crackpots? And what is so crazy with the crackpots, that you have to repair them? The borders are blurred and dangerous.
There are plenty of reasons to get mad, to drive crazy, to go barmy: for example if you have to look on how your family is shoot and killed. Or when the money is not enough for to live. Or when suddenly your love dissapears. Or when friends ram a knife into your back. Or?
The artist will not give an answer, but an image, that shows the allday deliriousness that excists only in hiding places, in seclusion and in locked-up rooms. Deimling creates a bizarre confusing image and press his body to its physical and psychical borders. Is it a matter to laugh or it disgusts oneself, what you will see there? Is BBB Johannes Deimling completely stupid? Or is he absolutly normal and express only this what many of us hold in? A delirium, a hurt, that cannot understand or perhaps will not understand?
The Performance “normal” BBB Johannes Deimling will show the first time from the 2nd-3rd of September 2007 as part of the 14th edition of the Performance Art Festival "castle of imagination" at Schloss Broellin, curated by Wladyslaw Kazmierczak und Ewa Rybska.

Künstler gelten im Allgemeinen als etwas verrückt.
In seiner neuen Performance und Videoarbeit "normal" beschäftigt sich der Künstler BBB Johannes Deimling mit der Normalität. Wer ist normal? Wer ist verrückt? Und wer entscheidet darüber wer normal oder verrückt ist? Die Normalen oder die Verrückten? Und was ist denn bei den Verrückten verrückt? Und warum muss man das zurechtrücken? Die Grenzen sind verschwommen und gefährlich.
Gründe zum verrückt werden, zum ausrasten, zum wahnsinnig werden gibt es genügend: Wenn man z.B. zusehen muss wie seine Familie erschossen wird. Oder wenn das Geld mal wieder nicht zum Leben reicht. Oder plötzlich einem die Liebe abhanden kommt. Oder wenn Freunde einem das Messer in den Rucken rammen. Oder?
Eine Antwort gibt der Künstler nicht, aber ein Bild, welches den alltäglichen Wahn zeigt der oft nur im Versteckten, Abgeschiedenen und Weggeschlossenem existiert. Deimling zeichnet ein bizarr verwirrendes Bild und bringt dabei seinen Körper an seine physischen und psychischen Grenzen. Ist es zum Lachen oder zum Ekeln was man zu sehen bekommt? Ist BBB Johannes Deimling nun völlig verrückt geworden? Oder ist er völlig normal und drückt nur das aus was viele unterdrucken? Einen Wahn, einen Schmerz, der nicht verstehen kann und vielleicht auch will?
Die Performance "normal" zeigt BBB Johannes Deimling zum ersten Mal vom 2.-3. September 2006 auf Schloss Broellin in Rahmen des 14. internationalen Performance Art Festivals "castle of imagination" kuratiert von Wladyslaw Kazmierczak und Ewa Rybska.
