sigueme sigueme / follow me, follow me / 2005
Mehr Licht! / La Habana, cuba / 2005 / 3½ hours
My starting point is in front of a supermarket in the quarter San Augustin of the city La Habanna; I carry a bucket with bright blue color and a small brush; on my back is a sign with the words: "Sigueme Sigueme" (follow me, follow me);
at each step that i take I outline the contours of my shoes with the blue color; while moving I am leaving my traces and the people are asked to follow my track; I keep doing this action over three and half hours and i thereby connect certain locations of the quarter that i selected beforehand
“… After the school was over the children run on the streets and saw the marks on the ground and follow them, until they have reached BBB Johannes Deimling. A line of over 22 children followed the artist over a half Kilometer through the quarter. With every step they supported Deimlings action with a “Hepp!” …”
