Context:

The German title “ElemenTisch” is a German pun that merges elemental with table.

An astonishing part of our lives revolves around the table.
It is a meeting place, a work surface, a stage and a battlefield. Relationships, habits and rituals are forged around it. Here, people talk, eat, wait, celebrate, argue and remain silent.
In “ElemenTisch”, Lisa-Marie Porst and BBB Johannes Deimling navigate the absurdities of everyday life and the persistent attempt to maintain normality – an endeavour that inevitably begins to falter.
Simple actions result in shifts. Routines turn into irritations. Order gives way to a poetic chaos. Porcelain plates glide across the tablecloth like thoughts that have lost their way.
ElemenTisch conceives of everyday life as a delicate fabric of relationships, gestures and agreements that can tip over at any moment – and it is precisely in this that it unfolds its own poetry.
For sometimes a table is enough to reorder the world. Or to throw it slightly off balance.
