I DON'T KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED, BUT IT DID.

“The sound of a film that has no images.
But if you close your eyes and listen,
images will appear directly in front of your retina.”

With the sound composition ‘I don’t know how it happened, but it did’, I explored how my visual, performance based “acted images” would sound.
In my performances and video or film works, sound is mainly produced by handling certain materials as a supporting element of the visuals and I refer to them as visual experiences.
So, what does a performance in the ‘Mysterious Barricades’ cycle sound like?

I’ve recorded a variety of sounds, instruments, and environments and also used audio from the video documentation of previous performances. During the composition process, I tried to apply the same working method and attitude that I usually use for my performance images, e.g., the collage technique.
